Design and it's market appeal

When it comes to art, design is the arrangement or pattern of elements that expresses the artist's imagination.
However, there is a difference between the two. While art appeals to our senses, design has a broader realm in terms of its application in the real world.

Patterns around us

Everything has a design(good or bad). Just look  around and observe the underlying pattern in the objects around you. Be it a table or a mobile.
They have been designed to appeal and that's one of the main reason they are around you. But is it just good design or something more?

  • A good design not only means an aesthetic appeal but it must also fit in well with our needs and requirements.

For instance:  Picture a mobile phone that has an amazing design but the same design makes it difficult to be held or carried. Is it good design or a design flaw?

Graphics design

Be it the real world objects or the virtual world entities,  along with a pleasing graphics the design must fit into our requirements if it has to appeal to the larger audience. But we have a plus when it comes to virtual design. It is relatively easy to create and has a plethora of options for bettering your finished product.

"A skilful designer not just designs but also strives to connect to his audience."

Marketing Appeal

"If a tree falls in the forest and no one heard it,  does it make a sound? "
The point is no matter how good a product it,  it needs marketing. And when it comes to the modern times,  one can never undermine the power of social media.  The connection is that it hinges upon graphics and content. In fact the two complements each other in such a way that they have developed a strong interdependence in recent times.
In order to have a strong hold on market you must have a strong audience or the reach(as they refer to it in the world of social media).
So why take a chance?
After all brand awareness is the stepping stone for the inroads into the hearts of your audience!
